This place was FANTASTIC! I’m so used to basic, bland Mexican restaurants in the valley, but this place blows them all out of the water. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted like a friend that has been gone for a while. Our server was super attentive and friendly, which made the experience 100x better! We had the chorizo queso, Birria tacos, and pork and chicken Tamales (which are seasonal, but sooo exceptional). Everything was too good to be true, and then the margaritas were somehow even better than that. I kept eating too fast to take pictures, but I tried my best

We were visiting SLC from Texas for a rugby tournament and staying in Sandy. Stumbled upon the small unassuming Mexican restaurant and thought we would give it a try. So glad we did! From the fresh chips and salsas (4 to choose from) to the amazing margaritas and to die for birria tacos, we loved everything! Not very crowded, server was nice and friendly. The interior of the place is a bit small and nothing special, but the food sure is! Thanks for a wonderful Mexican meal outside of Texas!

Wonderful meal and even more wonderful staffer work here. Everybody seem to be having a good time. The mole chicken was tasty as well as the pozole. Fajitas were tasty, especially when cooked peppers. They provide free salsas but be ready. One of them is super hot.

We came for the food and stayed for the music!The staff are very kind and welcoming. Coming from LA (Los Angeles...) I’ve missed authentic Mexican food and this place nails it. Hard to find good Mole and you can enjoy it here! Loved the pastor as well. People complaining about portions must be used to having a SAD diet - that is, “standard American diet”... the portions are beyond generous. So glad we happened to be in the neighborhood and found this spot!

One of the best enchiladas I've had. The salsas they have are also the tastiest I've had. The enchiladas were so good, that once I started eating, I totally forgot to take pictures of them. Maybe next time I come I'll have more pictures.

As anywhere, staff make the experience complete and there is a lot of love at el Gallo Loco! Salsas were delicious, packed with goodness and blended just right. Meats were perfect as well, could have used a little more Pico on the tacos but the chunkiness of the salsa more than made up for that. I've been coming here since 2018 and this place has consistently been an absolute gem

Great food, great service, fun atmosphere. Jesus was amazing with his personalized service. Crispy Tacos included 4 tacos and a huge portion of guacamole. Definitely recommend!
